Description

Join us for a rewarding day of service at Camp Loud Thunder as we prepare the property for another great Scouting season! Volunteers will spend the day helping with a variety of outdoor improvement projects that make a lasting impact for the thousands of youth and families who visit camp each year.

Projects may include painting, splitting firewood, brush and trail cleanup, and other general camp beautification tasks. No special skills are required—just a willingness to pitch in and work as a team.

  • Location: Camp Loud Thunder, 9906 175th St. W., Illinois City, IL
  • Parking: Main parking lot across from the Administration Building
  • Check-In: Dining Hall

What to Bring

  • Work gloves (required)
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Clothing appropriate for the weather
  • Optional personal protective equipment (eye protection, hearing protection, etc.)

This event is open to a maximum of 40 volunteers, ages 18 and older.

Water and lunch will be provided. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.

Rain won't stop us! If weather conditions aren't suitable for outdoor projects, we'll have meaningful indoor projects ready so everyone can continue making a difference.

Q: Minimum age to participate.
A: You must be age 18 or older to participate.

Q: Driving Directions
A: Please park in the main lot across from the Administration building upon arrival.

Q: Details of tools required.
A: Gloves. You can bring your own PPE (eye protection, etc) if you would like to.

Q: Plan for bad weather.
A: Please dress for the weather. If the weather is not compatible for outdoor projects, we have a back up plan for indoor projects.

A: Please let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions so we can accomodate.
