One Saturday morning is all it takes for us to make more than 300 Quad Cities area homes safer and potentially save the lives of our neighbors and their children. Can you spare a Saturday morning to help save lives and have some fun?
This spring, join fellow Red Cross volunteers in more than 100 communities across the country to Sound the Alarm, a home fire safety and smoke alarm installation event. During this nationwide home fire safety and smoke alarm installation event, volunteers across the country will install 100,000 free smoke alarms in high risk neighborhoods in over 100 cities.
Did you know that the American Red Cross responds to a disaster every 8 minutes, and the vast majority of these are home fires? Sadly, every day seven people die from home fires, most in homes that lack working smoke alarms, with children and the elderly disproportionately killed. That’s why the Red Cross launched the Home Fire Campaign in 2014. Since then, volunteers and partners have made over 300,000 households safer. Now we’re on the cusp of something big, and we need your help.
The American Red Cross and our local partners are dedicating a Saturday morning to prevent needless deaths to home fires throughout the Quad Cities, Muscatine and Kewanee. Please join us on May 4, 2019 as we install 750 free smoke alarms to Sound the Alarm! Save a Life.

You will be asked to enter your zip code, and then you can select an event in a city near you. The Quad Cities event is on May 4, and we will have groups meeting up in Moline, Davenport, Muscatine and Kewanee to visit homes in each of these communities.
Individuals AND groups are encouraged to sign up! We do offer team registration if you want to create your own team.
