Big Brothers Big Sisters is partnering with area elementary schools to offer meaningful opportunities for community members to step into the role of a Big and experience the impact firsthand. During the lunch and recess hour, volunteers are paired with students identified by their schools as young people who would benefit from extra support, encouragement, and connection.
How It Works:
- Following a brief welcome, you’ll be introduced and paired with a student.
- Volunteers are provided lunch courtesy of BBBS and Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop. The students bring their own or the school lunch is provided.
- A variety of icebreakers and fun activities are provided to help you get to know the students.
- The experience lasts approximately 1.5 hours and takes place in a group setting, with all volunteers and students in the same general area.
