Washington Junior High School

Washington Junior High School serves 7th & 8th grade students in Rock Island. The staff of 32 serves over 500 students from diverse backgrounds. Over 60% of our students are from low-income families. Our teachers and staff are dedicated to making sure every student is successful and feels cared for while they are with us. Washington Junior High has served Rock Island families since the 1920s from the original building at 3300 18th Avenue. About 10 years ago Rock Island Schools began campaigns to provide upgrades to its schools including renovations and classroom/cafeteria additions. Unfortunately as the economy weakened the planned junior high school upgrades were scrapped.

To prepare students to be successful in high school so that they can pursue college or a career.
