River Bend Foodbank

River Bend Foodbank is the largest hunger relief organization in the Quad Cities and surrounding communities, having distributed over 23 million meals in 2020 to hungry people in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

Programs

• School Pantry Program - These pantries are safe places within a local school where students and their families are able to access food items stocked directly from our warehouse.
• Partner Agencies - River Bend Foodbank has 300+ agency partners serving 23 counties in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
• Mobile Food Pantries - These pantries are held multiple times each month and travel to the locations in our service area where the need is greatest. Each Mobile Food Pantry distribution provides about 6,000 meals and feeds hundreds of people.
• OASIS Program - Boxes are assembled at our warehouse with fresh, nutritious produce and then delivered to an area in a "food dessert."
• Senior Pantry Program - River Bend Foodbank has established senior food pantries in several low-income senior apartment complexes.
• Senior Hunger Initiative - Boxes of fresh produce are delivered to seniors in low-income elderly housing. 
• Backpack program - Throughout the school year, River Bend Food Bank partners with schools and nonprofit afterschool programs to give approximately 3000 kids at risk of hunger food to take home for the weekend.
