Priorities within the mission: 1) Promote Homeownership and Affordable Rental Options a. Secondary Market Sources to recycle capital for purchase; b. Identify Additional Sources to capital for purchase; c. Provide Safe Affordable Homes for purchase and/or Rental; d. Provide Education and technical assistance for Homebuyers and Homeowners 2) Sustain Homeownership a. Provide grants and loans for rehabilitation for existing homeowners; b. Provide education technical assistance and counseling to homeowners; c. Provide HUD Housing counseling services to homebuyers 3) Revitalize Neighborhoods a. Acquire and Secure vacant properties in distressed neighborhoods; b. Monitor and assist with pivotal community projects; c. Establish relationships with government community groups and businesses to provide impacts in distressed neighborhoods. The primary activities that will support the priorities identified above include: 1) Counseling Training Technical Assistance and Education ? 2) Lending and Funding ? 1st and 2nd Mortgage Loans; FACT Loans; and grants. 3) Revitalizing Neighborhoods ? Rental/Purchase/Rehab/Resale. All NHS programs will contribute to these primary activities. Neighborhood Housing Services of Davenport Iowa Inc. is a 501(c)3 and created in 1981 by several community members who identified a need for an organization to rehabilitated and preserve affordable and/or historic properties within the City of Davenport. Over the years this mission has adapted to meet the identified needs of the community. Since 1981 NHS has: ? Leveraged Public and Private dollars to affect $25 million of investment in our neighborhoods. ? Provided 187 rehabilitated vacant homes for purchase ? Financed 1953 loans for First Time Homebuyers and Homeowners ? Leveraged our initial CDBG investment of $2.8 million to 14.1 million ? Granted or forgiven more than $1.3 Million on more than 2083 homes in the City. ? Impacts of NHS programs therefore can be demonstrated on more than 4000 homes within the City.

The Mission of NHS is to promote and sustain affordable housing options for low and moderate income individuals and families to renew pride restore confidence promote reinvestment and revitalize neighborhoods.
