Who We Are
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley provide youth development services for youth ages 6-18 during the critical out-of school time. Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Boys and Girls Clubs provide a safe place to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals; life-enhancing programs and character development experiences; and hope and opportunity. Programs focus on these core areas: Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports Fitness and Recreation. These programs promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of belonging, a sense of usefulness, a sense of influence and a sense of competence. Clubs are open from immediately after school until 6:00pm. Our 8-week summer session is 8am-3pm, Monday-Thursday. Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley began in June 1994 at 350 3rd Street Moline, in the heart of the Floreciente neighborhood. There were 60 youth in attendance that day. Currently we reside in the Ontiveros Youth Center at 1122 5th Avenue, Moline. We serve kids from both IL and IA, and provide programming to over 200 kids per year; with plans to continue growing to support our community.
What We Do
