Together Making A Better Community (TMBC)

Together Making a Better Community (TMBC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2016 by Pastor Rogers Kirk and members of Third Missionary Baptist Church. We own and operate the TMBC Lincoln Resource Center, a former Davenport elementary school, located at 318 E 7th St in Davenport, Iowa. Our mission is to empower and educate youth, families, and the community by ensuring access to opportunities through events, programs, and services. We build our work around three pillars: Engage, Empower, and Educate.

TMBC delivers a full range of programs for youth, families, and the community. After School Club serves students in grades 1-5. AMP provides teen engagement programming, including our summer Camp AMP. Hustle University gives high school juniors and seniors an earn-while-you-learn opportunity with a $1,000 stipend and an internship placement. The Helms Career Center, a partnership with Goodwill, supports job readiness and career development. The Family Library, run in partnership with the Davenport Police Department's Cops N' Kids program, provides literacy resources for families. Tenant Village and our Business Center support local entrepreneurs and residents. Our Senior Social Club and Community Spaces create gathering places for neighbors of all ages, and Real Conversations with KWQC brings community dialogue to a wider audience.
