Who We Are

The Quad City Animal Welfare Center was founded in 1977. We serve the entire Quad Cities area. We operate solely on donations and do not receive tax dollars. Last year in 2023, we adopted over 1,500 animals into loving homes and spayed and neutered over 3,500 cats and dogs.

The mission of the QCAWC is to operate a shelter for homeless animals, to offer a spay and neuter program, and provide humane education. We are the only full-service, no-kill shelter serving the Quad-Cities area. We are a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit and rely solely on donations.

What We Do

Adoptions

We always have great cats and dogs available for adoption! Sometimes we have kittens, puppies, and small animals as well.

The dog adoption fee is $100, with each dog spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and tested for heartworm disease.

The adoption fee for puppies (less than 4 months) is $250, with each puppy spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations for their age, and microchipped.

The cat adoption fee is $50, with cats spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV.

The adoption fee for kittens (less than 4 months) is $75, with kittens spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations for their age, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV.

Low Cost Spay/Neuter

We offer low cost, high quality spay/neuter surgeries for cats and dogs to clients four days a week by appointment. We do pediatric spay/neuter, so we can spay/neuter kittens and puppies.

Drive Up Wellness Clinic

If you want a low cost but quality option for vaccinations, heartworm testing, nail trims, and parasite prevention products. The hours are every Wednesday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am., and the first Saturday of the month from 8:00 am to 11:00.

Humane Education

We partner with schools throughout the Quad Cities area to provide quality educational programs to teach young people how to be pet caretakers, how pets improve our lives, and the impact they can have on the lives of animals. We visit schools and host a variety of groups in the Education Center at the shelter.
