Join River Action for a cleanup at Milan Bottoms in partnership with United Way on Sept. 10 from 8:30am-12pm. Tis is an opportunity to have a positive impact and experience the biodiverse beauty of a 3,500 acre wetland ecosystem in the Quad Cities. This critical habitat is home to several federally endangered species and is the site of one of the largest documented Bald Eagle night roosts.

There will be all kinds of trash to clean up, including tires and other bulky items that will require some muscle. We encourage anyone looking for a workout to join this cleanup! Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Please bring your own water. Come prepared with rubber boots or waders, and protection against bugs and poison ivy. We also request the assistance of anyone with a pickup truck who is willing to help haul away bulky trash items to a designated dumpster at Black Hawk State Historic Site.

Q: Minors require an adult.
A: Yes

Q: Driving Directions
A: Park 1/4 mile down the lane on the left. We will shuttle volunteers down to the cleanup site or you may walk.

Q: Plan for bad weather.
A: In the case of mild, inclement weather, we will return to our cars and try to wait it out. In the case of severe, weather, we will postpone.

A:  We will need some muscle for the removal of tires during this cleanup! Some of these will be heavy. We encourage anyone looking for a workout to join this cleanup!
