Join us for a hands-on volunteer day supporting the YMCA rowing program! We'll be sprucing up the riverfront and getting the boathouse back in shape so our rowers have a safe, clean space to launch from all season.
What we'll be doing:
- Clearing overgrown brush, weeds, and debris along the riverbank
- Trimming back vegetation encroaching on paths and launch areas
- Picking up litter and any washed-up debris along the shoreline
- Sorting, organizing, and decluttering equipment storage in the boathouse
- Hauling out old or unusable gear for donation/disposal
- General tidying to make the space safer and more functional for rowers and coaches
What to bring:
- Work gloves (extras available, but bring your own if you have them)
- Closed-toe shoes or boots you don't mind getting dirty
- Water bottle and sun protection
- Weather-appropriate clothing (we'll work rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe)
Good for: individuals, families, and groups looking for a great outdoor community service project. No experience necessary — just a willingness to get a little dirty for a good cause!
Light refreshments will be provided, and all proceeds/impact go directly toward supporting local youth and adult rowers through the YMCA program.
