Volunteer: Kites on the River

Celebrate National Kite Month by flying your kite high in the Davenport sky at Centennial Park along the Mighty Mississippi. Our scenic riverfront park provides the perfect setting for outdoor adventures! Experience the freedom of flight while keeping your feet on the ground—like a bird soaring with the wind, your kite dancing above as you hold the string tight. Let it climb to the highest heights, gliding through the clear atmosphere, making you feel lighter than air. Drift with the breeze over rooftops and trees, enjoying the thrill of the moment. Kite enthusiasts can compete in categories like best-designed kite, largest kite, and highest flying kite. There will also be a kite-making workshop for those who want to design and build their own kites to fly during the event.
