1) Leadership
Development Conference (LDC)

Volunteer to assist with our Leadership Development Conference
About: All elected classroom officers, local career association members,
will gather for a full-day of leadership training, communications activities,
skill-building and networking that allow them to apply their learnings in their
local programs and communities. In 2023, nearly 1,100 students in grades 6-12
attended the conference.
Following this event, Iowa’s State Career Association and new elects will
attend the National Student Leadership Academy in Washington, D.C. for an
exclusive experience with other top student leaders from 38 other JAG state
affiliates.
2) Career
Development Conference (CDC):
Volunteer to
judge student submission for our Career Development Conference
CDC Prelims (Virtual) - Dates: January 22-31, 2025
CDC State Competition (In-Person) - Date: March 4th, 2025 at Iowa State
University
About: During the State Career Development Conference (SCDC), students
in grades 10-12 will participate in a full-day of career discovery and
professional development with employer-led workshops, networking and a career
fair.
This event features several categories of competitions that challenge students
on various subject matters in addition to soft skills, presentation abilities
and professionalism. Whether competing individually or as a group, students
work closely with their iJAG Specialist and employer mentors to prepare for the
big day.
3) Skill Development
Conference (SDC):
Volunteer to assist with our Skill
Development Conference
Date: May 2025 - Exact Date TBA
About: During the Skills Development Conference (SDC), students in
grades 7-10 participate in a full day of leadership development, skill-building,
competitions, and career education. SDC is held in cooperation with Des Moines
Area Community College. 56 iJAG programs attended with over 275 students
involved in 2024.
This event features several categories of competitions that challenge students
on various subject matter in addition to soft skills, presentation abilities,
and professionalism. Whether competing individually or as a group, students
work closely with their iJAG Specialists and employer mentors to prepare for
