Opportunities From: United Way Quad Cities

At the Mercado night market, alcoholic beverages are served from our bar. We have a covered kiosk on our south patio which is also illuminated at night. Your job will be to check ID's and provide wristbands to guests age 21 or older so they can consume alcohol and roam the Mercado grounds. 

On the Mercado south patio, we set up a 10x10 tent, mini bar and cooler just to sell canned alcoholic beverages. We are offering to any Quad City regional nonprofit, the opportunity to volunteer to staff the tent and sell beer and then raise and keep tips for their organization. If volunteering as a group/organization, you must be a recognized 501(c) 3 nonprofit or in the process of filing. All volunteers for the beer tent must be 18 years old or older. 

FRIDAY SET UP

Put up fencing around perimeter (check map for that night’s configuration)

Set up stage area (carpet, skirt, sponsor banner)

Set up bar tent on the patio with barrels, table top and cooler for beer

Place and open umbrellas in each patio table

Move rectangular cocktail tables to dance floor area in front of stage

Move hexagon cocktail tables onto stamped concrete area of patio

Move picnic tables in grass (if needed)

Set out tables and folding chairs inside Mercado building

Set up barricades in assigned position (if needed)

Set out all non-security market signage and sandwich boards on patio and inside building (or where directed)
