Who We Are
The mission of CSC and Gilda’s Club is to uplift and strengthen people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care.
What We Do
CSC Iowa & NW Illinois serves close to 1,200 people impacted by cancer, annually. Our vision is that everyone impacted by cancer receives the support they want and need throughout their experience. Through skilled and trained licensed mental health professionals, participants are able to develop coping skills that lend to stronger emotional and social health. It is widely known that strong emotional health has a positive impact on one's physical health. Research indicates, patients and families utilizing support services see shorter and fewer hospital stays, reduced prescription dependency, reduced work absenteeism, and a 23% reduction in insurance claims. All programs are available at NO COST to anyone with a cancer diagnosis, in treatment or survivorship, as well as their friends and families, including those that have lost someone to cancer. Our programs include support groups, educational workshops, healthy lifestyle activities, social connections, and resources/referrals.
