Who We Are
For more than 40 years, NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley has offered families in eastern Iowa and western Illinois the opportunity to learn how to effectively advocate for a loved one living with a mental health condition. Nationally-developed programs are delivered by trained volunteers who have lived experience with mental illness. The NAMI difference is that peers and families help lift up others with similar experiences.
What We Do
An affiliate of the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization in the nation, NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley provides no-cost education, advocacy and support to individuals living with a mental health condition, and their families. NAMI is dedicated to improving the lives of peers and their families, empowering them toward recovery. NAMI does not provide treatment, counseling or legal advice; rather the organization focuses on education, advocacy and support. NAMI programs complement treatment, filling an information and education gap for individuals and families.
