Who We Are

Villa Montessori School provides child care and Montessori education for children from 6 weeks of age through 6th grade. We serve families from the entire Quad Cities area. The school is open year-round 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to accommodate families who are working or attending school. The school's infant and toddler program is licensed through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services; the school is accredited by ISACS (Independent Schools Assoc. of Central States) and NAEYC (National Assoc. for the Education of Young Children). In 1979 Villa Montessori School was founded. It provided pre-school education; a toddler program was soon added. In 1982 the school gained its not-for-profit status and added an elementary program. Infant care was added in 1985. In 1991 the school received full ISACS (Independent Schools Association of Central States) accreditation. In 1994 Villa Montessori moved into its newly constructed 25 000 square foot facility at 2100 - 48th Street Moline. In 2003 the school received accreditation from NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). In 2005 the Montessori Heartland Teacher Education Center was established at Villa Montessori School. This provides Montessori teacher education programs for adult students from throughout the midwest.

What We Do

Our mission statement is as follows: Villa Montessori School serves the educational needs of children from infancy through pre-adolescence. Recognizing that the children of today are future leaders of tomorrow we strive to develop intrinsically motivated and independent learners who will achieve their highest potential therefore preparing them to become successful participants in society. We challenge the children to learn and explore on an individual basis as well as develop a respect for others and the environment.
