Humility Homes & Services, Inc.

Humility Homes & Services, Inc. (HHSI) is an organization which takes people from homelessness to self-sufficiency because we believe that everyone has potential. HHSI is a supportive and highly structured living program for families in which parents have goals to increase education or job training. 

Humility Homes & Services offers the only overnight, low-barrier emergency shelter for adults in the Quad Cities.  HHSI offers emergency shelter as well as transitional housing and supportive housing.  The volunteer needs of both sites are served through this portal and this volunteer coordinator.

The anticipated outcome for HHSI participants is that participants increase their potential for earned income which could allow them to secure and maintain fair-market housing and support themselves and families. There are many services that are provided for the participants. All HHSI families and many HHSI single adults have their own apartments for which they pay rent based on their income. Professional social workers meet with participants on a weekly basis and it is this 'one-on-one time that results in increased potential for them to overcome obstacles that have contributed to their homelessness. 

We maintain the Fresh Start Donation Center to serve the needs of our participants and just opened the Fresh Start Corner Closet to serve the needs of those living at the HHSI emergency shelter.
