Who We Are

Habitat ReStore Quad Cities is a fund-raising branch of Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities. We are a retail business offering new and gently used building products for sale to the public. Our profits support Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities and the building products diverted from area landfills benefits the entire community. Area contractors homeowners and retailers have donated generously to fill the shelves in this 13 000 sq. ft. store. Shoppers from all walks of life flock to the ReStore to find new or vintage products a door or cabinet to match existing decor and prices at 25% to 50% of retail. Every day is Christmas at the ReStore. We don't know what is coming in and shoppers never know what treasures they might find. The ReStore opened in December 2002 thanks to a generous grant from the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources. Since that time more than 3 million pounds of building materials paper cardboard and metals have been diverted from area landfills. In addition more than $240 000 has been provided to Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities. The ReStore concept is in practice in hundreds of Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the US and other countries. The Quad City ReStore was the first of several Habitat ReStores now operating in Iowa.

What We Do

The ReStore's mission is to provide an ongoing mechanism for diverting useable building materials from the waste stream by collecting and selling these materials to the general public; and to provide a source of materials and funding for Habitat for Humanity-Quad Cities to be used in support of local national and international home building efforts.
