At the Quad City Botanical Center, we take great pride in our gardens that help bring people and plants together in fun and meaningful ways, and we need your help! During Day of Caring, we are looking for volunteers to help us out with a variety of tasks ranging from helping out in our garden beds (5 volunteers needed), greenhouse (5 volunteers needed), decorate the grounds for our Nocturnal Nature Quest Halloween Walk (5 volunteers needed), and help hang up Christmas lights for our Winter Lights holiday light show (30 volunteers needed). Please note that special tasks may be created closer to the date. We will inform you once when the tasks have been created and confirmed. Our many visitors, volunteers, interns, and our staff enjoy the beauty the gardens have to offer, so help is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to bring your own gardening tools such as gardening gloves, trowels, pruners, etc., and we encourage you to bring your own water bottle; water will be provided regardless of you bringing your own water or not. Also, you will be working outside and may be getting dirty, so please dress appropriately. Also, close-toed shoes are required. We will have an air-conditioned space for you to take breaks and rest. Please note that lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing on ladders, and squatting are a requirement for the tasks provided.
