Description

Join Nahant Marsh for a fantastic volunteer opportunity!

We will be seed harvesting and/or removing cottonwood tree saplings from our nearby sand prairie. This could include digging, cutting, or assisting in spraying difficult to remove trees

How to prepare: wear long pants, long sleeves (if possible), and close-toed shoes. Hats, sunglasses, bug spray, and plenty of water is great but we will provide extra water. Gloves and tools to do the job will be provided.

Other: carpooling is encouraged but not required. Small tours may be provided after the project if time allows. Must be comfortable being outdoors, walking through plants with the potential of being encountered by insects and other critters, ability to potentially be in direct sun during the project, ability to bend, stoop, and potentially lift bundles of tree saplings equaling no more than 20 pounds.
