Every trail maintained, building improved, and outdoor space enhanced through your volunteer efforts directly supports the experiences that help girls discover their strengths, connect with others, and grow into the next generation of leaders. Help us bring new life to one of Camp Liberty's most beloved camping areas! Earlier this year, Camp Liberty began an exciting project to modernize the small cabins at the Outpost Campsite. Originally built with limited ventilation and natural light, these cabins were ready for an update. Thanks to the hard work of camp staff and volunteers, six of the eight cabins were transformed in time for this summer's camp season using a more open, inviting design that improves airflow, visibility, and camper comfort. Now we're ready to complete the final two cabins and we need your help!

  • Volunteers will work together to:
  • Dismantle the two remaining cabins slated for renovation
  • Install new structural supports
  • Add screening for improved ventilation
  • Install new doors and siding panels
  • Finish painting the cabins rebuilt during the spring project

These improvements will create brighter, safer, and more comfortable overnight spaces for campers while extending the life of the cabin village for years to come.

Q: Driving Directions
A: Welcome to Camp Liberty! Please follow these directions upon arrival: 1. Cross the bridge into camp and continue through the lower parking lot. 2. Follow the road to the right and proceed up the hill. 3. You will pass the pavilion and archery range along the way. 4. Continue up the hill until you reach the Main Lodge. 5. Park your vehicle at the Lodge. 6. Enter through the doors nearest the flagpole.

Q: Plan for bad weather.
A: If this project can't be completed due to inclement weather, replacement projects that can be done under cover will be provided.

Q: Details of provided meals.
A: Lunch will be provided for all volunteers as a thank-you for your service at Camp Liberty. Our lunch menu will include; cold-cut sandwiches, chips, fruit and everyone's favorite—Girl Scout Cookies! If you have dietary restrictions, food allergies, or specific dietary needs, please plan to bring a lunch that is safe for you to eat. We will be happy to store your lunch in the refrigerator at the Lodge until mealtime.

Q: Details of Provided Drinks
A: We recommend that all volunteers bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Our team will circulate throughout camp with coolers of fresh drinking water, and there are well-water spigots located across the property where you can refill your bottle as needed. Camp Liberty's well water is clean, cold, and a favorite among many campers and volunteers! Staying hydrated is especially important when working outdoors, so we encourage everyone to bring a water bottle and refill it often throughout the day.

A:  After parking at the Lodge, please enter through the doors by the flagpole. Inside, please sign in and meet your assigned staff liaison, who will provide project details and get you started.

Q: Please list any skills volunteers will need to help with your project.
A:  This project will require that some team members have more advanced carpentry skills and are able to use power tools. The painting part of the project does not require skilled labor.
