Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Camp Liberty provides a unique outdoor environment where girls develop leadership skills, build independence, explore nature, and create lifelong memories. Every trail maintained, building improved, and outdoor space enhanced through your volunteer efforts directly supports the experiences that help girls discover their strengths, connect with others, and grow into the next generation of leaders. Your work today helps ensure that Camp Liberty remains a safe, welcoming, and inspiring place for thousands of girls to learn, grow, and thrive.

Flint Lake is one of Camp Liberty's most popular activity areas, where girls learn paddling skills, explore nature from the water, and build confidence through new outdoor adventures. Following the removal of an aging boat house, we're working to complete improvements that will better serve campers and protect our equipment for years to come.

  • Volunteers will assist with:
  • Installing metal siding on our new paddle sports storage building
  • Leveling and improving the gravel flooring inside the structure
  • Scraping, preparing, and repainting the existing boat house used to store life jackets, paddles, and fishing equipment
  • Helping refresh the overall appearance of our lakefront recreation area

This project combines hands-on construction and beautification efforts that will have a lasting impact on thousands of campers. Your work will help ensure that girls have safe, organized, and welcoming facilities as they launch kayaks, grab paddles, and begin their next waterfront adventure.

Q: Driving Directions
A: Welcome to Camp Liberty! Please follow these directions upon arrival: 1. Cross the bridge into camp and continue through the lower parking lot. 2. Follow the road to the right and proceed up the hill. 3. You will pass the pavilion and archery range along the way. 4. Continue up the hill until you reach the Main Lodge. 5. Park your vehicle at the Lodge. 6. Enter through the doors nearest the flagpole.

A: If inclement weather impacts this project, it will be replaced with an indoor project.

Q: Details of provided meals.
A: Lunch will be provided for all volunteers as a thank-you for your service at Camp Liberty. Our lunch menu will include; cold-cut sandwiches, chips, fruit and everyone's favorite—Girl Scout Cookies! If you have dietary restrictions, food allergies, or specific dietary needs, please plan to bring a lunch that is safe for you to eat. We will be happy to store your lunch in the refrigerator at the Lodge until mealtime.

Q: Details of Provided Drinks
A: We recommend that all volunteers bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Our team will circulate throughout camp with coolers of fresh drinking water, and there are well-water spigots located across the property where you can refill your bottle as needed. Camp Liberty's well water is clean, cold, and a favorite among many campers and volunteers! Staying hydrated is especially important when working outdoors, so we encourage everyone to bring a water bottle and refill it often throughout the day.

A:  After parking at the Lodge, please enter through the doors by the flagpole. Inside, please sign in and meet your assigned staff liaison, who will provide project details and get you started.
